Project Reveal: Entering the World of Orpheia
The world ended years ago, but the war for our identity is only just beginning.
For some time now, I have been meticulously crafting a vision that has lived in my mind a blend of the gritty, desperate survival of Mad Max, the cybernetic existentialism of Blade Runner, and the dark biological ethics of The Island of Dr. Moreau. Today, I am proud to finally share a glimpse of this journey: my upcoming 300 page manga epic.
The Protagonist: Meet Orpheia
At the heart of this story is Orpheia. She is a chimera a human tiger hybrid created by The Architects. The Architects were mad scientists who sought to escape the fragility of human existence by uploading their minds into cybernetic brainchips, leaving behind a world of discarded experiments.
Orpheia is not your typical hero. When we first meet her in the opening pages, she isn’t posturing in a heroic pose. She is in a desolate, sun scorched camp in the American desert, surrounded by scrap metal, Arduino boards, and the mess of a life lived on the run. She’s sarcastic, she’s exhausted, and she’s haunted by a single, crushing question:
“Am I supposed to be a human or something else?”
Beyond the Action
While this manga is packed with the tension of rebels fighting a technologically superior force, the core of the story is deeply personal. It explores what it truly means to be human when your very DNA has been rewritten by those who view you as nothing more than an asset to be tracked and hunted.
The aesthetic of the project mirrors this duality a fusion of rugged, Native American inspired survival gear and cold, calculated military technology. Every panel is being designed to pull the reader into the harsh reality of the year 2090.
The Road Ahead
We are currently at the beginning of a 300 page odyssey. Sharing the first page today is a milestone, but it is only the first step into a much larger, darker, and more complex world.
I am incredibly excited to bring this vision to life and share Orpheia’s struggle with all of you. What does it mean to be human when you were born in a lab? That is the question we are going to answer together.
